Satsang of Arunachala

The greatest of all aids to Self-realisation is the presence of a Realised Man. This is called Sat Sang which means literally `fellowship with Being'. Even here Bhagavan would sometimes explain that the real `Being' is the Self and therefore no physical form is needed for Sat Sang. Nevertheless, he often dwelt on its benefits.

Association with Sages who have realised the Truth removes material attachments; on these attachments being removed, the attachments of the mind are also destroyed. Those whose attachments of mind are thus destroyed become one with That which is Motionless. They attain Liberation while yet alive. Cherish association with such Sages

Neither the holy waters of pilgrimage nor the images of gods made of earth and stone can stand comparison with the benign look of the Sage. These purify one only after countless days of grace, but no sooner does the Sage bestow his gracious glance than he purifies one.

Tip

Every thought that leads you away from self-awareness is a trick created by the imposter (false self). - Langford

Self-enquiry

"Know and always hold onto the Now.
Disregard the body and the mind.
To identify with them is misery.
Dive deep into the Heart,
the source of being and peace,
and establish yourself there."
Do not limit Bhagavan (Parabrahman) to the body, but find Him in your heart, because He is already there waiting for you.

Sri Ramana

Sri Ramana
Bhagavan stated that self-enquiry should be performed with the same intensity as that of a drowning man struggling for air, only then can it succeed.

Arunachala

Dedication

I seek refuge at the sacred feet of my Father, the blessed Ramana, who performs the entire work of creation, preservation and destruction, while remaining wholly unattached, and who makes us aware of what is real and thus protects us, that I may set down His words fittingly.

Arunachala Ramana

In the recesses of the lotus-shaped Hearts of all, beginning with Vishnu, there shines as pure intellect (Absolute Consciousness) the Paramatman, who is the same as my Father, Arunachala Ramana. When the mind melts with love of Him, and reaches the inmost recess of the Heart wherein He dwells as the beloved, the subtle eye of pure intellect opens and He reveals Himself as Pure Consciousness.

Lord's Feet is All

Verily are they, all mantra and all medicine;
All tantra and all giving;
All beauty and all pure way;
Mine Holy Father's Feet Twain.

Into my bosom, on my eyes, over my head
He gently planted His loving Feet
Ramana, my Lord Supreme;
He laid me the Path,
He showed me the Truth,
He settled the course of my Destiny
Truly, truly, all that I can not describe.

When you seek a Guru
Seek you one, holy and pure;
And then give him your all--
Your body, life and wealth;
And in constancy learn clear,
Not a moment distracting,
You shall sure reach Siva's State.

Annamalai Swami

I shall hold fast unto Ramana

With love and yearning, I seek my Father,
Seeking Him, as Siva the Supreme, I will meet Him;
And then will I seize hold of His valorous Feet
And for ever hold to them,
Until He liberation grants.
