Having access to that formless realm is truly liberating. It frees you from bondage to form and identification with form. It is life in its undifferentiated state prior to its fragmentation into multiplicity. We may call it the Unmanifested, the invisible Source of all things, the Being within all beings. It is a realm of deep stillness and peace, but also of joy and intense aliveness. Whenever you are present, you become "transparent" to some extent to the light, the pure consciousness that emanates from this Source. You also realize that the light is not separate from who you are but constitutes your very essence.- Eckhart Tolle

Whenever you are present

The only true knowledge is pure awareness
The only true knowledge is pure awareness.
Thoughts, beliefs, ideas and concepts are all false knowledge.
What is worth seeking and discovering is the truth of Self. Such knowledge comes only to the still, clear intellect not muddled by strenuous search without but questing for the Truth in silence.-- Sri Ramana (Today is Annamalai Swami Day)

Sri Muruganar quote
As the gracious light of inner realization entered my heart, all knowledge acquired through learning was exposed as merely a creation of the mind and as it fell away, my consciousness – free of attributes, shining in its natural state of attachment to the Self, that shines without attachment to anything – gained its final victory as the consciousness that is absolute and all-embracing.-- Sri Muruganar

Some pointers on 'Who Am i' meditation
Therefore, search within for that which is the perceiver and attempt to abide there. The attempt itself will be a failure, but persistence will allow one to abide in silence, as the dichotomy disappears, and the ultimate subjectivity will reveal its mysteries just in this calm abidance.

The one true light
The one true light there is, is pure Awareness.
Other kinds of knowledge clinging to it and claiming to be real are ego-born conceptual clouds.
To trust them is sheer folly.

Earnestness
It is the earnestness that liberates and not the theory.
Your sincerity will guide you. Devotion to the goal of freedom and perfection will make you abandon all theories and systems and live by wisdom, intelligence and active love. Theories may be good as starting points, but must be abandoned, the sooner – the better.
(Today is Sri Muruganar Day).
The enduring attainment is to become established in the Heart, abiding as the pure 'I', unruffled by the fierce gale whipped up by all the various branches of knowledge that are apprehended through the mind and senses, and cause us agitation.-- Sri Muruganar

The one question
Give up all questions except one:
'Who am I?'
After all, the only fact you are sure of is that you are.
The 'I am' is certain.
The 'I am this' is not.
Struggle to find out what you are in reality.
All these questions arise from your believing yourself to be a person.
Go beyond the personal and see.

Non-existent person
Your questions are about a non-existing person.
The silence of the mind will dissolve and absorb all else.
Do not ask superficial questions; apply yourself to fundamentals, to the very roots of your being.
There are so many theories devised for explaining things; all are plausible, none is true.

Mind tempting you with words
Don't be interested in the words that the mind is serving up for you. It is putting them there to tempt you into a stream of thoughts that will take you away from the Self.
You have to ignore them all and focus on the light that is shining within you.

Giving up false identification
When I say give up your false identification with the "I am the body" idea, I don't mean that you are not the body, I mean that you should give up the idea that you are only the body. You are all bodies, all things, all creation, but this knowledge will not come unless you give up identifying with particular objects, such as "I am the body" and limiting thoughts such as "I am this person".
When you have given up all thoughts, all identifications, the true knowledge suddenly dawns on you: "I am the unmanifest Self, and I am also the whole of manifestation."

You are prior to the I-am
The ‘I am’ is the sum total of all that you perceive, it’s time-bound, the ‘I am’ itself is an illusion, you are not the ‘I am’, you are prior to it.- SNM

Continuous Effort
Self-enquiry must be done continuously. It doesn't work if you regard it as a part-time activity. You must have a lifelong commitment to establish yourself in the Self. Your determination to succeed must be strong and firm, and it should manifest as continuos effort. -- Sri Annamalai Swami

Go beyond I-am
The ‘I am’ is the permanent link in the succession of events called life, be at the link ‘I am’ only and go beyond it.- SNM

'I-am'
Why not turn away from the experience to the experiencer and realize the full import of the only true statement you can make: ‘I am’. Just keep in mind the feeling ‘I am’, merge in it, till your mind and feeling become one. By repeated attempts you will stumble on the right balance of attention and affection and your mind will be firmly established in the thought-feeling ‘I am’. Whatever you think, say or do, this sense of immutable and affectionate being remains as the ever-present background of the mind.- SNM

All perceivable is transient
Do not bother about anything you want, or think, or do, just stay put in the thought and feeling, ‘I am’, focusing ‘I am’ firmly in your mind. All kinds of experience may come to you – remain unmoved in the knowledge that all perceivable is transient and only the ‘I am’ endures.- SNM

Staying in I-am
You must meditate on the 'I am' without holding on to the body-mind,
the 'I am' is the first ignorance, persist on it and you will go beyond it.
Your Guru, your God is the 'I am', with its coming came duality and all activity,
stay on the 'I am',
you are before the 'I am' appeared.
Remain focused on the 'I am' till it goes into oblivion,
then the eternal is, the Absolute is, Parabrahman is.

Stabilize in the beingness
You must come to a firm decision. You must forget the thought that you are a body and be only the knowledge "I Am," which has no form, no name. Just be. When you stabilize in that beingness it will give all the knowledge and all the secrets to you, and when the secrets are given to you, you transcend the beingness, and you, the Absolute, will know that you are also not the consciousness. Having gained all this knowledge, having understood what is what, a kind of quietude prevails, a tranquility. Beingness is transcended, but beingness is available. (from Prior to Consciousness)

Self alone exists
Self-enquiry is the process by which attention is put on the substratum instead of on the names and forms that are habitually imposed on it. Self is the substratum out of which all things appear to manifest, When the Self is seen and known, all these ideas fade away and one is let with the knowledge: Self alone exists. -- A.S

The world and the senses
If we want to go beyond the mind and body, we have to understand and fully accept that all the information the senses provide is not real. Like the mirage that produces an illusory oasis in the desert, the sense create the impression that there a real world in front of us that is being perceived by the mind. The apparent reality of the world is an illusion. It is merely a misperception.
We see the superimposition, the unreal names and forms we have created and we forget about the substratum, the reality that underlies them. -- A.S

"I am the body" causes maya
There are so many thoughts in the mind. Thought after thought after thought... But there is one thought that is continuous, "I am the body". This is the string on which all other thoughts are threaded. Once we identify ourselves with the body by thinking this thought, maya follows. If we cease to identify ourselves with the body, maya will not affect us anymore. -- A.S.
